Student Code of Conduct – NextGenBright

At NextGenBright, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to achieve their educational goals.

This Student Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all students using NextGenBright services, including online tuition sessions, group classes, professional courses, learning platforms, assessments, and digital resources.

By joining NextGenBright, students agree to follow this Code of Conduct and contribute positively to the learning community.

1. Our Learning Values

All NextGenBright students are expected to demonstrate the following values.

Respect

Treat tutors, staff, classmates, and other learners with kindness, professionalism, and respect.

Responsibility

Take ownership of your learning, attendance, preparation, and progress.

Integrity

Be honest in your work, assessments, communication, and interactions.

Commitment

Participate actively and make consistent efforts to improve.

Collaboration

Support others and contribute positively during learning activities.

2. Student Responsibilities

Students are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled lessons on time.

  • Be prepared with the required materials and equipment.

  • Participate actively during lessons.

  • Complete assigned homework and learning activities.

  • Ask questions when support is needed.

  • Follow reasonable tutor instructions.

  • Maintain a positive attitude towards learning.

  • Inform NextGenBright or their parent/guardian if they are unable to attend a scheduled session.

3. Online Learning Behaviour

As NextGenBright provides online education, students are expected to maintain appropriate digital learning behaviour.

Students Should:

  • Join lessons from a quiet and suitable learning environment.

  • Ensure their device, camera, microphone, and internet connection are working before lessons.

  • Use their correct name and account details.

  • Keep their camera on when reasonably requested for interactive sessions.

  • Communicate politely through chat and other online tools.

  • Remain focused and engaged during lessons.

Students Must Not:

  • Join lessons while intentionally engaging in unrelated activities.

  • Intentionally disrupt lessons.

  • Share inappropriate content through chat, screen sharing, or messages.

  • Record lessons without prior permission.

  • Take screenshots or distribute recordings or learning sessions without appropriate permission.

4. Respectful Communication

Students must communicate respectfully with:

  • Tutors

  • NextGenBright staff

  • Other students

  • Parents or guardians involved in learning activities

Unacceptable behaviour includes:

  • Bullying

  • Harassment

  • Threatening language

  • Discriminatory comments

  • Offensive or inappropriate communication

  • Repeated disruption of lessons

  • Intimidation or abusive behaviour

Every student has the right to learn in an environment free from intimidation, harassment, and inappropriate behaviour.

5. Academic Integrity

NextGenBright encourages students to develop independent learning skills and maintain academic honesty.

Students must:

  • Submit their own work.

  • Complete assessments honestly.

  • Acknowledge sources where required.

  • Follow applicable examination and coursework rules.

Students must not:

  • Copy another student's work.

  • Use unauthorised assistance during assessments.

  • Share answers or completed assignments improperly.

  • Present another person's work as their own.

  • Engage in cheating or other forms of academic misconduct.

6. Use of Learning Materials

NextGenBright provides educational materials to support student learning.

Students may use these materials for their permitted personal educational purposes only.

Students must not, without appropriate permission:

  • Copy or distribute course materials.

  • Upload NextGenBright content to public websites.

  • Share paid resources with others.

  • Sell learning materials.

  • Reproduce or modify learning materials.

  • Make educational content available to unauthorised third parties.

7. Attendance and Punctuality

Regular attendance is important for learning progress.

Students should:

  • Attend all scheduled lessons.

  • Arrive on time.

  • Be ready to participate at the scheduled start time.

  • Notify NextGenBright as early as possible if they are unable to attend.

Repeated absence or late attendance may affect learning progress and access to certain services.

8. Behaviour During Group Classes

Students attending group sessions are expected to:

  • Allow others the opportunity to participate.

  • Listen respectfully when others are speaking.

  • Avoid unnecessarily interrupting tutors or classmates.

  • Follow reasonable instructions from tutors.

  • Encourage a positive learning atmosphere.

Students must not:

  • Unfairly dominate discussions.

  • Intentionally distract other learners.

  • Make other students feel uncomfortable, threatened, or excluded.

  • Disrupt the learning experience for others.

9. Safeguarding and Personal Safety

NextGenBright is committed to protecting student wellbeing and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Students should:

  • Report concerns about inappropriate behaviour.

  • Inform a parent/guardian or NextGenBright staff if they feel unsafe.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with tutors and other students.

  • Seek help when they encounter behaviour that causes concern.

Students must not:

  • Request or share personal contact details unnecessarily.

  • Engage in inappropriate communication.

  • Attempt to arrange private lessons outside NextGenBright without appropriate approval.

  • Encourage or participate in inappropriate relationships with tutors or other students.

10. Technology and Account Security

Students are responsible for protecting their accounts and using NextGenBright's technology responsibly.

Students must:

  • Keep passwords and login credentials confidential.

  • Use their own account.

  • Report suspicious or unauthorised account activity promptly.

Students must not:

  • Share their login details.

  • Attempt to access another user's account.

  • Attempt to bypass security measures.

  • Damage, disrupt, or interfere with NextGenBright systems.

  • Introduce malicious software or harmful content.

11. Prohibited Behaviour

The following behaviours are not permitted on the NextGenBright Platform or during NextGenBright services:

  • Bullying or harassment

  • Discrimination or hate speech

  • Abusive or threatening behaviour

  • Cheating or academic misconduct

  • Sharing inappropriate or harmful content

  • Misuse of technology

  • Fraudulent activity

  • Deliberate disruption of lessons

  • Unauthorised recording or distribution of lessons

  • Attempts to compromise platform security

  • Any behaviour that creates an unsafe or seriously disruptive learning environment

12. Consequences of Breaching the Code of Conduct

NextGenBright may take appropriate action where a student does not follow this Code of Conduct.

The action taken will depend on the nature, seriousness, frequency, and circumstances of the behaviour.

12.1 First Concern

Where appropriate, NextGenBright may provide:

  • An informal discussion with the student.

  • Guidance regarding expected behaviour.

  • An opportunity to correct the behaviour.

12.2 Continued or Serious Concerns

Where concerns continue or are more serious, NextGenBright may take measures including:

  • A formal warning.

  • Parent/guardian involvement.

  • Restrictions on Platform access.

  • Additional conditions for continued participation.

12.3 Serious Misconduct

For serious or repeated misconduct, NextGenBright may take action including:

  • Suspension of access to NextGenBright services.

  • Termination of a student's account.

  • Removal from a particular course or learning session.

  • Further action where necessary or appropriate.

Where possible and appropriate, decisions will take account of the circumstances and aim to support positive student development.

Nothing in this section prevents NextGenBright from taking immediate action where necessary to protect students, staff, tutors, or the wider learning community.

13. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

For students under the age of 18, parents or guardians are expected to:

  • Support appropriate student behaviour.

  • Encourage regular attendance.

  • Ensure students have a suitable learning environment.

  • Support responsible use of technology.

  • Communicate important concerns with NextGenBright.

  • Cooperate with NextGenBright where behavioural or safeguarding concerns arise.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to work collaboratively with NextGenBright to support the student's education, wellbeing, and development.

14. Student Commitment

By enrolling with or using NextGenBright services, students agree to:

  • Respect tutors, staff, and other students.

  • Participate positively in learning activities.

  • Maintain academic honesty.

  • Follow online learning expectations.

  • Use learning resources responsibly.

  • Protect their account and login information.

  • Follow reasonable instructions from tutors and NextGenBright staff.

  • Help create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

Together, we can build a learning community where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
